ခက်ရင်း စွယ်စုံ စိန်ထောင်ကြီးနဲ့

ငါးစီး ဆင်ပြောင့် အားပေကို

ဇမ္ဗူစိုးရ နတ်ရှင် ကျွန်

တုလို့ ချွန်လျှင် ခန္ဓာ စဲမယ်

ရဲ ရန်ညွန့် ဖြို

ကိုး ပိဿာစီး

ဓားမကြီး

ရန်မီး သတြ ငေါက်လျှင်ပြို

 ကုန်းဘောင် ရွှေဘို ထောင်ကနက်က

ဘေးဘိုး စဉ်ဆက် ခုတိုင်အောင်

ရေးတော် မရှောင် ထမ်းတဲ့ ယောက်ျား

ယာလယ်လုပ်လို့ တောမှာ ပျော်

 စီးပွား ထင်ပေါ် ပြောင်းနဲ့ စပါး

ပဲမျိုး အပြား

ဘူး သခွား

ကယား မြို့မ နယ်တစ်ခွင်

 ဝါ နှမ်း စုံလင် ချဉ်ပေါင်ခင်းနဲ့

မကြွင်း ခရမ်း

သီးမျိုး လျှမ်း

ပိုက် တန်း စည်း ဝိုက် ယုန် ထောင်ကာ

ချိုးနဲ့ ငုံ စာငယ်ကိုလေ

ပုတတ် မွှေးကြိုင်စွာ

ဇွန်လုံး ထိန်ထိန် ဝါ

 ရေယဉ် စီးတဲ့ တောမြိုင်သာ

ပြောင်း ပဲ ရောရော ဆန် တစ်ဝက်နဲ့

 စပျစ် ကျင်းလျက်

 ပြည့်အနက်

လူပျို ချက်တဲ့ ဟင်းလျာကို

ရောရော စုံ ချိုလှချည့်

အပျို ရွှေနံ ကားအောင်

 စားပါလှည့် ဗုံးပေါ။

စီးပွားထင်ပေါ် -                     စီးပွားတတ်တယ် ထင်ရှား

စပါး                              - rice( paddy supos)

သီးမျိုးလျှမ်း -                               ဟင်းသီး ဟင်းရွက်မျိုးစုံ အလျှံပယ်

ပိုက်တန်း စည်းဝိုက် ယုန်ထောင် -                     set up snares for hares

 ချိုး-                               dove

ငုံး-                               quail

စာငယ်-                     sparrow

ပုတတ်-                     kind of ground lizard or angama

မွှေးကြိုင်-                     smell sweet, be aromatic

ဇွန်လုံး -                               ပုစွန်လုံး - land crab

ရေယာဉ်စီး-                               a flowing stream

တောမြိုင်သာ -                     pleasant woods

စပျစ် -                               နှီးနဲ့ရက်တဲ့ ထည့်စရာ၊ ဒေါင်းလန်းတစ်မျိုး

ကျင်းလျှက်-                     spread out, laid out

ရွှေနံကားအောင် -           နံဘေး ကားထွက်အောင်

                                        so your sides will burst

 ဗုံးပေါ -                               ဗုံးပေါလအော abundant, lavish

 

ကိုင်း -           အဲဒီ စကားလုံးတွေ သုံးပြီး တစ်ပါဒချင်း၊ တစ်ကြောင်းချင်း ဘာသာပြန်သွားကြမယ်။ အင်္ဂလိပ်လို ဖတ်လို့ကောင်းအောင်၊ အီဒီယမ် ပြေပြစ်အောင်၊ ကဗျာနဲ့ တူအောင် ရေးသွားရမှာ ဖြစ်တဲ့အတွက် ခုပေးထား တာထက် ပိုမိုသင့်လျော်မယ် ထင်ရင် ပြင်သင့်တာ ပြင်ဆင်သုံးသွားကြမယ်။

The Farmer

With an all-around fork with diamond prongs

 the strength of five bull elephants

slave of the divine lord, ruler of Jambudipa

Come dare defy me and meet your end

 Valiant-Icrush all hostilities

My great sword

nine viss in weight

 I brandish it and all enemies run helter-skelter

From the days of Konbaung-Shwebo's

founding fathers till now

 never shirking from duty, I've served - this man

Working on my farm I enjoy country life

business is brisk - corn, rice

a variety of pulses

gourd, cucumber

throughout Kaya district

cotton, sesame and all, beds of roselle

 eggplants not excepted

 vegetables in abundance

setting up nets, snares for the hare

doves, quails, little sparrows

 ground lizards - what aroma

land crabs dazzling yellow

a delightful woodland with a stream flowing by

 Corn and pulses mixed, rice added half

 in a bomboo tray laid out

filled to the brim

dish prepared by a bachelor

 all a mess but terribly yummy

till your sides burst, young lady

help yourself - we've got plenty

ခေါင်းလောင်းသံတွေကလည်း

 နှင်းထဲမှာ အေးခဲလို့။

ကျွန်တော်က နှင်းတွေကို ခံစားဆဲ

ကျွန်တော် ဘယ်မှာလဲ။

My Mist

Never has mist

thus hung thick and dull

over our town

over the pagodas

over the temples

 

over TV aerials

over the roofs of houses

over the tops of trees

and finally

on to the thongs of my flip-flops

on the pavement

there is mist

 

The sounds of bells

get frozen in the mist

I am still enjoying the mist

but

အဝတ်အစားလဲ

လမ်းထွက်တတ်တယ်။

 

ကြည့်စမ်းပါဦး

ဟောဒီ စကြဝဠာကြီးဟာ

ကြည့်ပျော်ရှုပျော်

တော်တော်လှတာပါပဲလား။

မိုးသား

တောအုပ်

မြက်ခင်း

ရေကန်များနဲ့ မျှားတော့

မိတဲ့ငါးဟာ ငါပါပဲ။

ကိုယ့်အခန်း ကိုယ်ပြန်ရောက်ပြီး

လူပြန်ဖြစ်ရမှာကို

ရေကန်ထဲမှာ ပုန်းနေမိတော့တယ်။

Blue Fish

 

Life that no longer looks human

takes a bath

dresses

 and goes out for a walk

 

Just look

 this great universe

 -which's passeble enough

looks in point of fact quite beautiful

 

Rain clouds

woodland

grassland

pond - when fished with these

a fish a caught - it's me

 

You come back to your room and

lest you be reborn a human

 you hide yourself in the tank
