(1) Word Forms စကားလုံးပုံစံများ

စကားလုံးတစ်လုံးတွင် ဆက်နွှယ်နေသောပုံစံများ ရှိသည်။

Noun : The decision was two months ago.

ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်ကို လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ နှစ်လက ချခဲ့တယ်။

Verb : We decided to move to a larger house.

ကျွန်တော်တို့ဟာ ပိုမိုကြီးမားတဲ့ အိမ်တစ်အိမ်ကို ပြောင်းရွှေ့ ဖို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့တယ်။

Adjective : His decisive action brought order to the meeting

သူ့ ရဲ့ ဆုံးဖြတ်တတ်တဲ့ ဆောင်ရွက်မှုက အစည်းအဝေးသို့ အမိန့်ကို သယ်ဆောင်ခဲ့တယ်။

Adverb : She acted very decisively.

သူမဟာ အလွန်ပဲ ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်ကျစွာ ဆောင်ရွက်ခဲ့တယ်။ Nouns တွေဟာ လူတွေ၊ နေရာတွေ၊ ရုပ်ပိုင်းဆိုင်ရာ၊ အရာဝတ္ထုတွေ၊ အယူအဆတွေနဲ့ ဆောင်ရွက်မှုတွေကို ဖော်ပြဖို့ အသုံးပြုတယ်။

Subject : The doctor came immediately. ဆရာဝန် ရုတ်တရက် ရောက်လာခဲ့တယ်။

Compliment : My father is a doctor.

Object : We saw a doctor.

အချို့ Adverb နှင့် Adjective တို့သည် တူညီကြသည်။ late

Clause

ဝါကျများကို clause များနှင့် ဖွဲ့စည်းထားသည်။ Clause ဟူသည် subject နှင့် verb ပါရှိသော စကားလုံးအုပ်စု ဖြစ်သည်။

Independence Clause

Independent clause သည် subject နှင့် verb ပါရှိပြီး ပြည့်စုံသော အိုင်ဒီယာတစ်ခုကို ဖော်ပြသည်။

Independent clauseတွင် ဝါကျပုံစံ သုံးမျိုးရှိသည်။ ယင်းတို့မှာ

1. simple sentence 2. compound sentence
2. complex sentence တို့ဖြစ်သည်။

Simple sentence

Subject တစ်ခုနှင့် verb တစ်ခု ပါရှိသော independent clause တစ်ခုဖြင့် ဖွဲ့စည်းထားသည်။

e.g The cat ran under the tree.

S V သစ်ပင်အောက်မှာ ကြောင် ပြေးသွားခဲ့တယ်။

Compound sentence

Compound sentence တွင် independentနှစ်ခု(တစ်ခါတစ်ရံ နှစ်ခုထက်) ပါရှိပြီး conjunction and, but, or, not, or yet စသည်တို့ဖြင့် ဆက်သွယ်ထားသည်။

e.g The cat ran and the dog chased it.

S VSV

ကြောင်က ပြေးခဲ့ပြီး ခွေးက ယင်းကို လိုက်ဖမ်းခဲ့သည်။

Complex sentence

Complex sentence များသည် တစ်ခု (သို့) တစ်ခုထက်ပိုသော independent clauses နှင့် တစ်ခု(သို့) တစ်ခုထက်ပိုသော dependent clauses များနှင့် ဖွဲ့စည်းထားသည် ။ Dependent clause သည် မပြည့်စုံသော ဝါကျဖြစ်သည်။ ယင်းသည် independent clause နှင့် ချိတ်ဆက်ရန် လိုအပ်သည်။

e.g The cat that I saw.

ကျွန်တော် တွေ့ခဲ့သော ကြောင်။

e.g Last night the black cat that I saw in the street ran

လွန်ခဲ့သော ညက လမ်းမှာ ကျွန်တော် တွေ့ခဲ့သော ကြောင်နက်သည် သစ်ပင်အောက်မှာ ပြေးခဲ့သည်။

Dependent Clause

Dependent clause တွင် subject နှင့် verb ပါရှိသော်လည်းပြည့်စုံသော ဝါကျမဟုတ်ချေ။

e.g that she wanted

when they played with it.

Dependent clause ကို independent clause နှင့် တွဲ၍ ဝါကျ ဖြစ်လာသည်။

eg The DVD that she wanted was on sale.

သူမ အလိုရှိခဲ့သော DVD ကို ရောင်းချနေပြီ ဖြစ်သည်။
