Power Traps and Philosophical Stories
The people rejoiced, thinking that the spearman had won this time. But not long after, the dragon emerged from the cave in good health. He held the spearman's spear in his hand. He ordered the people to continue fighting as before. The people could do nothing.
At that time, a young man from the people said that he would fight the dragon. The young man's parents, relatives and other people forbade him. He replied that he had been practicing martial arts for many years and was quite skilled in both sides, and challenged the dragon. Although he did not have a shield, he was able to jump and avoid the dragon's flames. He was also able to deflect the dragon's spear with his long stick. He jumped and stabbed the dragon in the throat with his long stick. The dragon, who had been severely wounded in the neck, ran back into the cave. The young man was about to run into the cave, but his parents and people shouted and ate him. They told him not to enter the cave. It was believed that in the past, heroes would get into trouble if they entered the cave.
The young man hesitated for a moment. But if he didn't go into the cave, he wouldn't be able to kill the dragon. So he went into the cave despite the cries of his parents and people. The people thought he had already gone. They thought that in a while the dragon would come out again with a long stick.
In fact, it was not what the people thought. The young man who entered the cave managed to kill the dragon. After killing him, the young man became greedy when he saw the gold and silver treasures in the cave. He thought about how great it would be to own all of that gold and silver treasures. As soon as he thought about it, his body gradually changed and he saw himself again. He became a dragon holding a long stick. He thought about it, "Is this really going to happen?" He couldn't. He couldn't bear it. I can't be cruel to my parents, my relatives, my people. I can't eat their meat. I can't own the gold and silver treasures they gave me. I had to give them back to the original owners, the people. When he thought about it, he regained his original human form. It seemed that the sword warrior who had defeated the dragon before had become a dragon holding a sword like this. He thought that the spear-wielding hero had become so greedy after defeating the sword-wielding dragon that he became a spear-wielding dragon.
The young man came out of the cave. Seeing that he had come out in good health, the people ran to welcome him with joy. They asked if the dragon was dead. The young man explained that the dragon was dead, but that everyone could be a dragon, so only if everyone could control their greed to become a dragon would there be no more dragons. The people elected the young man as their leader, and the young man returned the gold and silver to the people, who were the original owners.
This is the story. It's a very good story with a lesson. Power is a trap.
