How do successful people lead?
Level [1] | Position
People follow you out of duty.
Position and leadership are the lowest level of leadership. The influence that a person has in a position of leadership is the authority that is given to that position. There is nothing wrong with taking a position of leadership. But if you try to use that position to lead people, you are making a big mistake. Position is no substitute for influence.
People who are at this level (1) will probably want to be superiors. They will never be leaders. They will only have subordinates, not members. They will rely on rules, structures, and policies, and people will do what they say to the extent that they have power. And their people will only prioritize their own interests. It is difficult to get people to do a little more work using their position and leadership.
People in positions of leadership are not comfortable working with volunteers, young people, and educated people. This is because leaders who hold positions of power no longer have influence over people like them who love freedom. Positions can be given to anyone. They don't require strength or talent, do they?
Level (5)
Leadership Peak (Respect)
People follow you because you are who you are.
Level (4)
Cultivate, cultivate the soil
People follow you because you are good to them.
Level ( 3 )
Work (result)
People follow you because of what you have done for the organization.
Level (2)
Allowing (relationship)
People follow you because they want to.
Level (1)
Position (authority)
People follow you because they are responsible.
Step [2] [Permission]
People follow you because they want to.
Level 2 of leadership is all about relationships. At the enabling level, people follow you and become your disciples. When you treat people with respect and dignity, you can influence them. You can also build trust. Your environment will gradually become filled with likes and dislikes. Whether at home, at work, or in your community.
The point of stage (2) is not to maintain a position. It's to get to know people and figure out how to get along. Let's find out what kind of people they are. Followers want to know who their leader is. And they want to build strong, lasting relationships.
You can befriend people without leading them. But you can't lead them without beingfriending them. That's the essence of level 2 leadership.
Level | Work [3] ] (Result)
After that level of preparation, the delivery is done.
People follow you because of what you have done for the organization.
The danger of the permission stage is that leaders stop there. But a good leader doesn't just create a pleasant work environment. They also get the job done. That's why they should get to stage (3). It's the results-based stage. In stage (3) leadership, influence comes from people's willingness to trust you. People want to follow you because of the results you've delivered to your organization.
Once you reach level 3 of leadership, many good things happen to leaders. Work gets done, morale improves, profits increase, and the final goals are achieved one after another. That's the momentum of level 3.
They enjoy leading and influencing people. Success and success will solve many problems. In this stage (3), leaders can be the ones to initiate change. They will take their followers to a new level of effectiveness by making transformative decisions when faced with difficult problems.
