The value of speaking

If you have a good mouth, you will rule the land.

If you speak sweetly, you will be a fool,

Death by mouth, destruction by hand,

I want to hate you, my mouth is full of new hands,

I want to love you, my new mouth.

These are old proverbs that everyone has heard and thought about. In fact, it would not be an exaggeration to say that words create and manipulate the human world.

The nuclear disarmament talks, the Security Council talks, the Party Central Committee talks, the border dispute settlement talks, the world experts’ symposium, the dispute resolution talks, etc. are all major talks that shape and control the appearance of world stability. Even within the country, news of talks on various topics in various cities and villages is a daily occurrence. Among the people who talk, there are judges, doctors, teachers, community leaders, entertainers, marketers, magicians, fortune tellers, and ticket sellers, and those who interact with various people work and live with words. If you think about it, in a world where thoughts from the heart are expressed through the mouth and implemented through the hands, speaking must be recognized as a job.

As the world of social communication expanded, the opportunities for communication increased and the topics for conversation increased. Science also invented recording devices, sound recorders, transmitters, amplifiers, long-distance wired and wireless devices, etc. At that time, speakers tried to make their speeches successful.

Speech can be amplified. It can be stored for a long time. It can be listened to again and again. It can be transmitted over long distances. These capabilities are provided by the machines of scientists. However, a speech cannot be modified by scientists or anyone else to be appealing to the audience. Only the speaker can learn more and achieve success with his own abilities.

“They were speechless and unable to speak, but they fought against the oppressive foreign threats with their lives. They inspired great world movements with their words. Like embers thrown into a pot of water, the great leaders of the world used their words to calm down the people who were in a state of anger. The fate of India was shaped by the words of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Mao Zedong taught ideology to millions of Chinese people through his words and led them to the forefront.

We have taken the teachings of General Aung San seriously. We can cite many examples of this from other countries around the world.

Words are indeed important. But why are they important?

Regarding our words.

1. It must contain content that will provide benefits.

2. It must be based on natural and correct facts.

3. The point must be clear and easy to understand.

4. It is important because it is complete with the basic elements that must be able to fully convey the intended motivation. If we consider these four elements, the first two are related to “the content, and the last two are related to the way of presenting it.” When these two elements are combined, it becomes a speech skill. The words that manipulate the human world are only the kind of wise words that are complete with these elements.

Everyone with a mouth speaks. But some words are only for two people, some are for families. Some are for cities, some are for entire nations. Some are for the whole world. All words spoken reach a certain level. But words that succeed succeed, and words that disappear with a wave of wind disappear. Words that do good are done, words that do harm are done. Words that will remain to establish the world will also remain.

Every speaker has a purpose. He has a target audience. But those who speak well and skillfully benefit, and those who do not speak well lose. We know that a sword is a weapon that can cut. We know that a stone is a weapon that can be thrown. But because of words, poison is drunk. Because of words, love is drawn. Because of words, enemies flee. Because of words, jobs are easy. Because of words, one escapes from bondage. Because of words, such powerful words are not considered weapons because they have no substance. They do not recognize them as tools.

In fact, we threaten with words. We boast with words. We persuade with words. We order with words. We suppress with words. We elevate with words. We confuse with words. Finally, we seize with words. We attack with words. We deceive and break with words. We incite with words. We flatter with words. We befriend with words.

Isn't speech a weapon that is as useful as it is useful? However, if you use it well, you can achieve what you want. If you can make the listener's blood boil so that he cannot stand it, then motivation will be victorious. If you can speak with love and affection, then friendship will be victorious. Even if you have a gun, you must know how to handle it and shoot it. You must also have enough ammunition to shoot it. If you only talk and cannot express it, then having a mouth is useless and only leads to loss. Those who are successful in speaking do not have a hundred extra devices in their mouths.

Words are also the cheapest weapon. They are the weapons that everyone owns. However, even if they are the same, a blunt sword is not as useful as a sharp one. A gun in the hand of a person who can shoot accurately and a gun in the hand of a person who cannot shoot are of different value. Therefore, the weapons of words that everyone owns are of different strengths. Those who improve their strength, practice their use, and use them in the right place win. Those who throw them and do not use them properly are useless. Just as a winged creature walks on foot and is not graceful, so a person who owns words will be a loser if he does not use them with words. Is it good for a person who owns rice to be hungry? If you stab a woman in the waist and stir it with your hand, it will be graceful.

If you pull a horse and go on foot, will you be on a journey? If you have a lamp, will you sit in the dark? If you consider these points, you will only benefit or benefit the world with your own speech (or) speaking skills.
