Lost in the Snow
Ollie the dog's great adventure
Ollie the dog peeked out of the barn door. Something cold and wet entered his nose.
"What are these white things, Mom?" he asked in a husky voice.
"Can you guys eat that?"
“That’s snow, Ollie,” his mother replied, laughing.
"Snow falls like rain in winter. And we can't eat it."
“So can we play in the snow?” he asked.
"Let me play, Mom..." Shiba and Sam both pleaded.
“Play, play. But don't go far,” said Mama. Sam and Sheba slid across the icy yard.
“Wait for me,” Ollie shouted, rushing after them.
When the dogs arrived at the field, they stopped running and looked. There was snow everywhere.
"Let's play," Ollie shouted.
The puppies were running around, digging in the snow, rolling around under the falling snowflakes. Suddenly...
The puppies ran away under the falling snowflakes.
Ollie's feet kept getting caught and slipping as he ran.
He ran until the last dog barked, gradually increasing in volume, and everything became quiet.
But where are Sheba and Sam? Where are the yard and the warehouse?
"Oh... it's not happening," Ollie moaned.
"I'm lost."
