Third Press Introduction

The book "Health and Healing through Nutrition" was first printed in colored paper by the Japanese Publishing House during the Japanese era, and was reprinted in 1949. During those years, I received many letters admitting that even just eating a meal can be very beneficial, and I myself have been so healthy that my friends have praised me. As for the diet, I have found it difficult to understand and follow it, so I have added a chapter at the end of the book to clarify it for those who want to follow it.

When I started writing this book, I had a small amount of eczema on the sole of my foot. While searching for health knowledge, I came across the article about the stomach flu, and I believed it and tried it. My goal was to get rid of the eczema without worrying about it, and to be healthy and fit at all times. After about a month and a half or two months, I put on my socks to wear closed shoes, and to my surprise, the eczema on the sole of my foot had completely disappeared, leaving only a scar.

When I met U Tin, the father of a public figure who was also interested in health, I told him about the latest knowledge I had found on the method of bowel cleansing, and he also tried it. At that time, my eczema had not yet disappeared, and there was no reason to talk about it. U Tin followed the practice of bowel cleansing with enthusiasm, and after about 6 months, he felt amazing benefits. He said that he had a large "dwe" on his chest, which extended down to his navel, and itched especially in the summer, causing great trouble. After about 6 months of daily bowel cleansing, he was also happy to see that the "sore" had disappeared one morning. .

We were surprised to find such a benefit without expecting it. We have been doing the bowel movement regularly for about 18 years, and we are still healthy, without any major illness, even now, when we are 77 years old. As for U Tin, he used to get sick about twice a year, but now he doesn’t get sick very often. One of our beliefs (whether it is true or not) is that diseases such as cancer are caused by impurities that have accumulated in the blood for many years. Therefore, we firmly believe that since we have purified our blood by doing the bowel movement every day, we will not be able to develop serious illnesses such as cancer. Because of this belief (even if it is true), we are very happy.

In 1960, when I went to Yangon (as was my custom once a year), among the educated and middle-aged people who came to me for training and discussion on my Ditthā Ditthā Mattam practice was Daw Thin Kyi, a professor of geography at Yangon University. Daw Thin Kyi, who considered herself to be overweight (in fact, there were many women who were fatter than her), seemed to prefer health to the Ditthā Ditthā Mattam practice. Daw Thin Kyi practiced not only the method of emptying the stomach in this book, but also the practice of fasting and eating on alternate days, and I heard from others that she not only lost weight but also became more active and lively than before. She herself said to me with joy, “I am not yet so addicted to the Dhamma practice, but the health method has been very beneficial to me, Master.”

In addition, there are many people who have written to me about their children being free from minor illnesses, living a healthy and happy life, and even recovering from a disease that was partially fatal. We Burmese are a people who are quite lazy in writing, so if we get 50 letters of confession, I estimate that there will be at least 500 people who will benefit.

Introduction

It would be good to be assured that one will never have to worry about food for the rest of one's life. But even better is to be assured that one will never be sick again. Because even if one has enough food, if one is sick, one will still face hardships. But for a person who is happy and healthy all his life, finding food will not be difficult. That is why it is said that " Aroji Param Laab" .

Wouldn't it be even better to be assured that not only you, but also your children, spouse, and household members will be healthy and happy throughout your life? This book has been collected, researched, written, published, and distributed to help you achieve such a situation.

It is worth asking whether it is possible to live a healthy and happy life for a lifetime. The answer is that it is possible for anyone who is passionate enough about health to follow the guidelines outlined in this book .

Such a bold answer is because we believe that all illnesses and diseases arise because we fail to take good care of ourselves. If we take such good care of ourselves, there is no way for illnesses to arise. If we say that we cannot prevent illness or disease, we are destroying the saying, “Protect your life, protect your wealth.” If we can protect your life with wisdom, we can also protect your illness with wisdom.

However, when it comes to maintaining health with wisdom, the word wisdom includes not only knowing the methods of how to live and eat in a way that prevents illness and disease, but also having the determination to follow them as they are known. Therefore, knowing the methods and being able to decide that if you do not follow them, you will not get sick, which is called wisdom. If you have that kind of wisdom, you will not get sick and you will live a long life.

All diseases are caused by changes in the weather, by germs, and by poor nutrition. Among these, nutrition is the most important. If you eat the right food and do not have impurities in your body, you can withstand changes in the weather and it will be difficult for germs to take hold . If there are no impurities in your body, you will be very weak. That is why it is said that if you have a healthy stomach, you will not have a headache. Therefore, eating and living to keep your stomach healthy or free from impurities is very important for health. Our philosophy is to improve your diet by using the right food and use it properly, so that your stomach is healthy and you will not have a headache.

What is food for? In order to replenish the body's depleted nutrients due to various reasons, food is digested by the digestive system, and then various enzymes are used to prepare it for the body to use. Then, there are tasks such as using what can be used, storing what is in excess, and eliminating what cannot be used.

Excess consumption is the first cause of disease. For example, if a building is to be built with ten thousand bricks, but fifteen thousand bricks are piled up, the masons will be overworked and will be working in vain by removing the excess bricks. Even for those who can digest the food they eat, if they eat too much, the work of removing the excess food in the laboratory, the work of digesting it when they have more than they need, and the extra work, are all causes of disease. For those who cannot digest it, it is not worth mentioning.

The second major cause of disease is the inability to properly cleanse the waste products produced by the digestive system and the laboratory. Even if you have a bowel movement once a day, you should not assume that the waste products are gone. Even if you have a bowel movement once a day and have a bowel movement every (7) days, you should not assume that the waste products are gone.

Only by eating the right food in the right combination and in the right quantity can the body be free from impurities and impurities. If there were no impurities and impurities, there would be no headaches, let alone other diseases.

When a person is sick and a doctor or a pharmacist is called, they usually ask about the events of the past day or two, such as whether they went to a place where there is a contagious disease, whether they took a wrong bath, whether they were exposed to heat, whether they had a sudden shock, etc. In fact, in addition to these sudden events, there must be a reason for the accumulation of impurities and impurities in the body. For example , it is like a spark falling on a pile of gunpowder. It is true that the spark will suddenly ignite, but it is because the gunpowder has already accumulated. For those who do not have accumulated impurities, they cannot take a bath, they cannot eat food at once, and they cannot catch diseases.

A 68-year-old man who has been practicing the methods described in this book is in excellent health, working 12 to 14 hours a day, jumping rope 200 times every morning, walking more than 5 miles every day, and still has the energy and enthusiasm to climb the stairs one or two times a day. (This does not mean that you need to do strenuous exercises.)

Before following the diet, the old man was plagued by indigestion, heartburn, and fatigue. Now he can run as fast as a relatively young man.

The healthy eating habits described in this book are not difficult or strenuous practices, nor do they require complete abstinence from favorite foods. However, those who suffer from underlying diseases (or those who want to live a healthy life free from disease and happy and peaceful life) should practice them on a daily basis, and they will benefit from them immediately, not later, so the publication of this book may seem a bit late.
