Basic science facts

Neuroscience exercises are based on simple observations about the brain. They provide important new information about the structure of the brain, how this information is acquired and stored, and how certain brain processes produce brain nutrients. The findings are as follows.

(1) Cerebral Cortex: The most studied part of the brain. It contains an incredible number of areas, each of which is specialized in receiving, interpreting, and storing information from multiple sensory modalities. Don't assume that all the sensory information you experience ends up in one place in the brain.

(2) There are hundreds of different neural pathways connecting areas in the cerebral cortex. These pathways are capable of storing an unlimited amount of memory. The nervous system is so complex that there are so many communication pathways. We will only use a few of these many pathways.

(3) The human brain is full of unique nutrient molecules called neutrophils. These nutrient molecules are produced by nerve cells and keep the nerve cells, the junctions between them, and the surrounding nerve cells healthy and nourished.

(4) The amount of neutrophils produced by neurons and how well other neurons respond to those neutrophils determines how well the neurons can function. In other words, the more neurons that are functionally capable, the more neurite growth molecules they produce, the better the response.

(5) Sensory stimuli - especially non-daily experiences - create new pathways along the neural pathways, which in turn cause the neural cells to produce more growth molecules.

Neurobics makes the human brain agile. It makes it active. It can be used to perform any mental challenge. Mental challenge can be memory skills. It can be the ability to perform tasks, but it can also be an increase in creativity. Neurobics is a way of approaching how the brain works, and it is not as simple as asking the brain to do something.
