Chapter (2)

The General loves music, the General loves music.

"How did you manage to get to this place so suddenly?"

As soon as I sat down next to the teacher, the teacher started asking questions.

"I should ask you that first, sir. It's not strange how I ended up here, but it's even stranger how I found you unexpectedly, so you should answer first."

The teacher laughed, liking what I said.

“I came to the opening of the new Yinchaung Bridge. The Yinchaung Bridge was built by our construction team, wasn’t it?”

I am Professor Ne Win, a special officer at the Construction Headquarters of the Ministry of Construction. Along with him, Major Min Lwin, who used to be General Aung San's bodyguard, is also a special officer.

Minister General Sein Win had summoned the two of them. He wanted to know what kind of responsibility he had to bring to the opening of the new bridge as a construction worker.

"So the teacher came with the minister."

“No, no, I’m here now for the music and entertainment duties. Look over there.” I looked at a building on a vast expanse of sand, a little way off, that the teacher was pointing to. The building was a large stage for an entertainment event. A large, dark red velvet car was unfurled, and the green, bright Brahmin masks were draped over the stage. A large, flying, Myanmar-style statue of a lion was rising from the glass-colored Burmese flagpole, and a large, proud, gold-and-silver-embroidered banner stood tall.

"Sandar Oo" "Oh.. the teacher came to take charge of the entertainment with Sandar Oo"

While we were talking, the teacher finished one cigarette and started smoking another. The teacher liked cigarettes very much. Even though he liked cigarettes, he didn't smoke any cigarettes except for the joint. He had the habit of buying the joint in bulk and lighting another cigarette after finishing one.

"Brother Yin, what about you?"

"I was returning to Yenangyaung for a while, and I heard that there was a ceremony to open the new bridge over Yenangyaung, and that Teacher, Sandar Oo, and the artists from the construction industry were also coming."

“Oh, you must have a lot of musical friends.”

"Yes, sir, I haven't met them yet. As soon as we got to the bridge, I heard the sound of the violin being played."

"Yes, as soon as I got here, I felt such a strong sense of connection that I went out alone and just started playing the song."

“The teacher’s song is the song of the boat called Bilap Pay Than.”

“Yes... that song is my general’s favorite song. When I got to the bridge, I realized that the stream flowing under the bridge passed through the General’s birthplace, Natmauk. Three streams from the north side merged to form this stream. In my mind, these waters were my general’s lifeblood. Just as these streams flowed continuously, I thought that the General’s lifeblood was also flowing. So, I picked up a violin and began to sing the General’s favorite song, “The Boat,” to him, and I noticed that tears were welling up in his eyes.

"General, is this song the only one? Are there any other songs?"

“Of course, since I lived with the General, I know all the songs that the General loves. I got it.”

"Tell me about those things when you have time, teacher."

"I want to tell you. I won't just tell you, I'll also show you how to play the violin. I'll also show you how to play the piano. You'll watch this show, won't you?"

"I'll see, sir. I came here because I wanted to watch my friends' dance."

“Well... I'll be presenting a program tonight.” “Yes.. a program that I'll direct and present.” “Yes, of course, it's a very unique new program that you'll like.” “What's the name of it, sir?”

Professor Ne Win gave me a preview of a presentation that I was most looking forward to, even though I didn't expect it.

"The general loves music, the general loves music..."

Chapter (3)

A whole hall, me and him. Yangon music from the land

Even a newcomer, Tran Pat Win Oo, has recorded with me twice. He was a guest with the band's brass players.

My music friends, teacher, and I walked to the other side of the bridge over the stream.

Then, at the bottom right of the bridge, there are barracks where the bridge construction workers lived. These barracks are temporary accommodation for teachers and artists.

"Big brother"

I suddenly saw a person and shouted..

I don't know if he recognized my call and my voice, but he was overjoyed as soon as he saw me.

"How are you, brother?"

When I happily shook Ko Tseng's arm and greeted him,

"How are you, teacher? How did you meet?"

"On the hill above the bridge, where there are statues of Thakin Poh Hla and Saya San, I heard the sound of a violin playing, so I went to see it."

"Well... I'm so happy to be here, where the sky and the earth meet. As soon as I arrived, I didn't even wait to be told that the sun was still hot, so I grabbed a violin and left."

Ko Dae-yin is a “drawing (p) employee” at the construction headquarters and is a famous songwriter and singer on the radio. Ko Dae-yin’s father is Shwe Taing Nyunt and his sister is a singer “Thar”. Ko Dae-yin’s most successful song, “Ap Gyi Ma Ma” sung by himself, is a song that almost every radio audience knows.

“Have you met my friend, Sagaing Sinth O, yet?” “I haven’t met you, brother. I just got here.”

"Go and meet me, the hostel has all the necessary things. Four brothers, Taunggyi, Liaoning, and the rest of us."

"Teacher, I'll go see you. We'll meet again at night."

I greeted Professor Ne Win and crossed to the farthest dormitory.
