Is it possible to make a positive and lasting difference in the time it takes for the Earth to orbit the Sun? Is it possible to completely change your life in the short span of a day?
This is not just a possibility, it is possible.
This book is based on a very simple proposition. The big changes that affect your life don’t happen overnight over long periods of time. They are the result of conscious decisions you make in specific moments. They are not decisions made on impulse. They are decisions that are deeply rooted in your heart. These decisions produce dramatic changes in your thoughts and actions.
For example, you may have to diet for six months to achieve your goal of losing twenty pounds. But the moment you decide to diet, you have already won the battle. The changes we seek in our lives happen in the same way.
When does transformation happen? It happens when you decide to change. Every hour, every
There is no set time frame for reading this book. What we ask is that you dedicate an hour to each chapter, fully immersing yourself in it. Read each chapter of this book. Ponder it. And then make the deep decision that is necessary for change.
By immersing yourself in a number of important areas, decisions will be connected to each other. They will be repeated. As they do so, you will find that you develop strengths and abilities that you never thought you could have. This development will benefit your work life. It will have an impact on your physical body, your personal relationships, and your overall perception of yourself.
Where did it start? There are psychologists. There are counselors. There are therapists. Ask anyone, ask anyone you like. The answer is the same. The answer is that without a decision to change, nothing will happen.
As you continue reading this book, it asks you to make decisions about your thoughts, your goals, your beliefs, your habits. But making decisions to change without the desire to change yourself, without the willingness to change, is a pointless waste of time and effort.
"I've tried many times before, but nothing has worked."
You might say.
This is what a mountaineer who has failed to reach the top of a mountain for three or four times and has had to turn back halfway might say. But a mountaineer who has lost his resolve does not say that. He says, “Mount Everest, you have beaten me once. You have knocked me down twice. You have knocked me down three times. But Mount Everest, one day, at some point, I will beat you. Because you are not getting bigger every day. I am getting better.”
You may want to know. You may not. But one thing is certain: everything, including your body, is constantly changing. Climb a mountain you have climbed once before. You will have a completely different experience. The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus said, “You cannot step into the same river twice.” Isn’t the river constantly flowing and flowing into the sea?
Everything is constantly changing.
Change is not scary. It is not terrifying. Change is the symbol of life. Every cell in your body is constantly changing. One is being replaced by another. If this does not happen, you will surely die. The dictionary defines change as “a transition from one thing to another, or from one stage to another.” Change is a process of modification, of replacement.
What is needed to change?
Nothing in this world is permanent. Your personality, your emotions, your perceptions... all of these things are constantly changing. But the scary thing is that most change happens as it should. Most change happens without direction. It happens without our prior knowledge or control. We don't think about change. We don't plan for it. It happens all of a sudden. So we usually react to external circumstances. We don't decide to change ourselves.
The usual response is to change jobs. Change partners, or change friends. People think that if they have a perfect employer, or a spouse, or a house, they will be fine. But most people never think about consciously changing themselves.
Look around you. You will find two groups of people. One is the reformist group, the other is the rebel group. They are even arguing for no change. They are still defending it. Look around you. You will find that the successful people are the “reformists.” They are the ones who dare to do the things that others are afraid to do.
If big businesses don't respond to consumer demand, they are headed for bankruptcy. How many times have you seen a soap made from ivory that has been improved? The doctor who will operate on your wound will not use a high-tech laser, but a surgical instrument that should be in a museum of ancient history.
