About the Maha Myaing Forest
In the summer of 1371 (2009), the beautiful and fragrant flowers of the Toragong Palace bloomed in a unique way. At this time, the door of the Dharma of the Blessed One, Maha Bodhi Myaing Sayadaw, who was alone in the Maha Myaing Forest, surrounded by people, and was practicing meditation, was also opened without any obstacles, 'Aloka Udapadi'.
Like bees that want to partake of the nectar of flowers, all the disciples and monks who want to hear the Dhamma from the Sayadaw Buddha have traveled to the Maha Myaing Forest, spreading out from every town and village in the country, without leaving their carts, boats, or horses. Just as the early humans looked for the sun and the moon when the darkness fell, the disciples had been waiting for the opportunity to visit the Sayadaw Buddha for ten or twenty years.
On the 2nd day of the first lunar month of Nayon, 1361 (May 1999), the opportunity that the Buddha had been waiting for since he left Nattalu Forest in Shwebo District, was finally here, the fragrance of meditation wafting through the air.
The venerable Maha Bodhi Myaing Sayadaw, the first monk, only performed the ordination at the monastery in Bawkhtaw, Thingangyun, Yangon, and from the second ordination in 1341, he wandered around the forests and mountains of Myanmar as a "Vanavasthi" until today, in the Maha Myaing Forest.

No matter where he went, anyone who saw the Sayadaw immediately fell in love with him. There were many who wanted to follow him, holding his robes. Even so, the Sayadaw did not always keep the door of the monastery open, but would always stay there, working hard. He did not sleep for 24 hours. He would always meditate on the instructions of the Venerable Wai Bu, and would spend 24 hours a day, without a break.
There was a time when I was told that even though I worked hard for 22 hours a day, I could not control myself. During the three-day retreat at Shwe Kyaung Kone Mountain in Tha Si Township, I would pray for one day a week every Sabbath and drink the Dhamma cold water. I pray for one day a week.
It's just that they are too considerate of the audience members who come from far away.
He went from the mountains to the villages about 15 miles away to receive alms and praised the devotees. Many people watched the alms-giving alms as the abbot came. The abbot's physical appearance was like that of the sun and moon, and he was so full of grace and beauty that when he was given the opportunity to touch his feet, he became very happy.
No one can forget that moment when they see the Buddha. Like the white flowers, the Dharma jewel itself is fragrant and the surroundings are fragrant. The spring water is cold and cools the drinker. Just as everyone who comes under the silver moon feels the peace, everyone who takes refuge in the shade of the Buddha's love and the shade of the Dharma feels the peace that they cannot forget.
That's why I saw that even students from overseas, such as Japan and the Philippines, would quit their jobs and fly to Myanmar by Mirae plane once they had the opportunity to see the Buddha.
The venerable Maha Bodhi Myaing Sayadaw, after a long meditation in the forest of silence, arrived at the Khaungnan Pallen camp of Maha Myaing Forest at 4:10 PM on the 8th day of the first lunar month of the year 1365. Here, it is worth exploring why the venerable Sayadaw went to Maha Myaing Forest. - Before talking about going to Maha Myaing Forest, why did he go to the forest of Tha Si Shwe Kyaung Kone Mountain when he was a monk? If you want silence alone, there are other quiet forests and mountains all over Myanmar.
