Introduction
When I was growing up, every summer I would go to my family's "Dairy Corner" store (a milk and dairy product store) and work around the clock.
During those times, I always had a fun job every summer.
Looking back now, I remember that everything I did during those years laid the foundation for me to be a successful entrepreneur in the future.
My family sells ice cream and treats customers well. My family's service methods have been invaluable to me, and I have been able to use them effectively in my own business.
At first, I didn't understand the connection between a simple business like selling ice cream and a large business corporation. My two younger sisters and I told our parents to retire from the family ice cream business. But my parents didn't listen to us. They loved their work and didn't see the need to sell their ice cream business.
Both parents are reluctant to sell their ice cream business to others while they can work as much as they want.
My mother used to tell me something back then. It was that if I could succeed in selling ice cream, I would be able to apply it to big companies one day. Whenever we would tell my parents to retire from business and sell the family business, my mother would tell us this.
“ Why sell a family business? This business has made our family happy. It makes me happy to see everyone smiling when they come to buy our family’s ice cream. If all our customers are happy every day, our family will be happy too. So what made you three siblings want to sell this business? This business is a solid foundation for the future of all three of you. Let’s value this business and learn from it.”
I remember our family's ice cream business, and I can still hear my mother's words echoing in my ears.
I applied my experience from my family's ice cream business to a large corporation. The practical experience I gained from working in the family business as a child meant that I had no difficulties in the practical world.
Because I managed my family's "Dairy Kwin" store for 21 years.
This book provides a comprehensive account of how I rose to the top of the business ladder. The operations of large businesses are complex, and each company has its own unique characteristics.
In every business, the tasks of managing customers and subordinates are as fundamental as they are important.
When I was at a large American corporation, I held various positions.
I have been.
I have worked as a sales representative and as a director responsible for customer-customer issues and service delivery. I have been able to use my family's business experience to good effect in interacting with customers, suppliers, buyers, employees, and managers to negotiate business matters.
I have been able to utilize my childhood experiences to the fullest extent possible, both in sales and service, to ensure customer satisfaction. My family's 'Dairy Creek' ice cream business was started in 1938 in Green River, Illinois.
Today, it is one of the largest restaurants in the world. Our family not only works at the dairy, but also works together to make the business perfect.
We worked 10 to 12 hours a day during the summer months. Sometimes we only had one day off a week. When we met for dinner, the whole family would not talk about personal matters or other trivial matters, but would talk about customer feedback and the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of the employees. Our family’s daily conversations included basic discussions about who needed training and what kind of attitude we needed to have when interacting with customers.
