This is the first entry in Leslie Steele's diary:

Dear Diary.. This morning I met the man I was going to marry. The paragraph is simple and straightforward. It is the kind of writing that hopes for only good things to happen. There are no signs of the events that will follow.

Leslie Steele was not interested in astrology. However, that morning he happened to be flipping through the Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper and came across Zoltaier's horoscope analysis in the astronomy section. His statement was...

Leo (July 23 to August 22): The New Moon will brighten your love life. Your luck will be high for the month from this month's full moon to the next. Be interested in an exciting event that will happen in your life. Your lucky sign is Aquarius. Today will be a happy and memorable day for you. Prepare to enjoy it.

What should we prepare for in order to enjoy happiness? Leslie frowned and thought. What's the point of today? It's just like any other day. Fortune telling is useless. It doesn't mean anything.

Leslie Stewart is the head of public relations and advertising for the Bailey & Tomkin Kentucky Company in Lexington. He has three meetings scheduled for that afternoon. The first is with the Kentucky Fertilizer Company. The company's officials are very interested in Leslie's new venture.

They especially liked the opening line of the ad. It said, "If you want to smell the roses..."

The second meeting he had to attend this afternoon was a meeting of the breeders and ranchers, and the third was with the Lexington Coal Company. What then was meant by the phrase "a happy and memorable day?"

In her early twenties, with a slender body, Leslie Steele was a sight to behold, with a body that was both attractive and captivating. Her hair was long, soft, and golden. Her bright blue eyes were sparkling. One of Leslie's friends once remarked, "You are so beautiful, and if you had brains, you would own the world."

Leslie Steele is a beautiful woman, her IQ is 170. The rest is left to nature. However, her looks seem to be of no use to her. Men try to approach her, but it seems that few make a real effort.

Leslie is the only woman in the office at Bailey & Tomkin, a firm of fifteen men, except for two female secretaries. Less than a week after joining the company, she discovers that her intelligence is superior to that of the men. Leslie uses this discovery to make her keep a safe distance from them.

At the first job, two of his colleagues, Jim Bailey and Al Tomkin, took his blood pressure. Jim Bailey was in his forties and soft-spoken. He was stocky and overweight. Al Tomkin was about ten years younger than Bailey. Whenever they met, they would tell Leslie to sleep with them.

Leslie was able to stop them with a very simple statement: “If you say that again, I’ll be fired.”

With that, their wish came true. Leslie Steele was a very valuable employee, so they knew that they couldn't let Leslie go, right?

During his first week on the job, Leslie told his colleagues a funny story over afternoon coffee.

"Three men met a fairy one day. The fairy said that she would grant them any wish they had. The first man said, "I want to be twenty-five percent more beautiful than the others." The fairy blinked. The man said, "Ha... I feel like I'm getting better."

The second man said, "I want fifty percent more than the others." The monster immediately blinked. The man then muttered, "That's amazing. I know things I didn't know before."

"The third man wants to be a hundred percent better," he said.

"Then the monster blinked. The man turned into a woman."

Leslie looked expectantly at the men who were listening to her story. They were all looking around at Leslie's face, but no one laughed.

The fortune teller's prediction of a happy day began at eleven o'clock that morning. Jim Bailey entered Leslie's small office.

“We have a new client,” Jim Bailey said. “I want you to take charge of him.” “Okay,” Leslie replied. “What’s the matter?”

"This is not a matter of what, but of who. Have you ever heard of a man named Oliver Russell?"

Everyone has heard of Oliver Russell. He is a lawyer and a candidate for governor of the state. Don't you see his face on posters all over Kentucky? He is famous for his brilliant legal work, and although he is only thirty-five years old, he is the most desirable young man in the state for the young ladies.

His face and voice are constantly heard on the famous television stations in Lexington. His voice is also heard on the famous radio stations in the area. He is a most attractive and handsome man, and is reputed to have slept with most of the famous women in Lexington.

"Well... I heard, what should we do for him?"

"We have to help him become the governor of Kentucky, and now he's here."

A few minutes later, Oliver Russell arrived. He looked even more attractive than he looked in his photos.

When he was introduced to Leslie, she greeted him with a warm smile.

"I've heard a lot about you, and I'm very happy to hear that you're going to be involved in my case."
