When I was young, I used to go to an old teacher in our neighborhood (the wise teacher) and ask him questions about things I wanted to know. The children in the neighborhood with me would often gather to listen to stories from the teacher and ask him questions about things they wanted to know.
Although I do not know the origin of this teacher, I have heard an elder in the neighborhood say, “A wise teacher must be from Mandalay,” judging by his Burmese appearance, tall stature, and long, sheepskin coat.
After traveling around the area, performing healing and fortune telling, the master bought a piece of land in our neighborhood and built a large two-story house in Burmese style, where he lived.
The wise master would regularly strike the big drum and the big drum that hung in his house once in the morning and once in the evening. When he struck the big drum, he would say, “Nawng,” and when he struck the big drum, he would say, “ Dai ,” and we would remember that it was “Nawngdai,” and then we would call out to our children, “Master, I have struck Naawngdai, let’s go.” Then we would go to the master’s house.
The monk would work tirelessly from dawn until the 3 o'clock bell rang in the evening, offering alms, stringing rosaries, performing healings, and reading fortunes. Then , after the evening bell rang, he would sit on a small chair in the shade of his house, drink hot water with yam, durian, pineapple, and white palm leaves, and rest while smoking a corn cob.
We children also waited for that time. At that time, the teacher was free, so we had the opportunity to ask questions. If we had no questions, he would tell us stories. The story of the wise teacher Rukkha Soe Ko Ponya, the story of the great elder Bilap Pae, the story of the old man Pya Ta La Ba who could drink water until the water was gone, and the story of the little red riding hood who was found in the Pakokku cemetery with great difficulty, etc., are the stories of the teacher that we cannot find in any book.
One day, our children gathered near the wise teacher during his free time and, while rubbing his feet, asked him, “Tell me a story, Grandpa.” He said, “What kind of story do you want to hear, Laung, Mak Laung, and Min Laung?” The teacher used to call us children by the names of Nhu Laung, Mat Laung, and Min Laung. In addition, he would change the names of the children who had names like Nga Kwol, Wet Roh Sama Tha, and Ko Yo Ka to Maung Mya Tha, Maung La Tha, and so on, and he encouraged the rest of the children to use the same names.
"Tell me about the man who floated on the ground," said Maung Myathar (Nga Kwo), and the teacher...
“I have to tell you about the landslide that MP Maung Myat Thar asked me to tell,” he began, lighting a cigarette and telling his story. “A landslide is not an ordinary person, only a person who is a magician can do that.”
As soon as the teacher finished speaking, we, the young men and women, who had never heard the word "wisdom," were shocked and...
“What is wisdom, Baba?” they asked. “Oh... What does the old man who repairs bicycles under the Kula Mosque write on his signboard?” we asked. “It says, ‘Bicycle Wisdom, Old Man’,” we replied.
"Oh... how did U San Lwin, who saw the flashlight from the bottom, write that?" the teacher asked.
"It's written as a flashlight," we replied, and Maung Latha, also known as Wetthoth, replied...
"U San Lwin Gyi wrote that he was a lightning wizard, but he can move the earth and fly," he objected.
“Aye... Maung Latha, if you ask me, I have a question. Like this, Ma Mu Gyi knows nothing about bicycle repair. There is no bicycle he can’t fix. So he must be called a wizard in bicycle repair. The same goes for U San Lwin, the flashlight wizard. There is no flashlight he can’t fix. He knows a lot about flashlights. So he is a flashlight wizard. No matter what profession, if you are skilled in one way or another, you can be called a wizard. Aye... People who are skilled in the skills of floating on the ground, such as the skills of the wind, the skill of the wind, the skill of the wind, and the skill of the wind are called the skills of the wind, the skill of the wind, the skill of the wind, and the skill of the wind. There is no specific realm of wizards in the thirty-one realms. Wizards are people. People who have become outstanding among people, so the teacher | "They are also called, "Nulaung, Matung, Minung, and others."
He said again.//
Then the children asked, " What is 'ah'?" "What is 'mercury '?" "What is 'sam'?" "What is 'sam'?"
The wise man explained the elements of iron, mercury, copper, and zinc in a way that children could understand.
“Why do they make it into a magic? Do they do it to please the sky?” Maung Myathar asked.
“No, if it is because of wisdom, then it will last a long time. It will last a long time and will reach the noble Buddha who will bloom in the future. That is why we follow the path of wisdom,” the great teacher said...
"Which path is the easiest, Master?" Maung Myathar asked. The Master laughed until his eyes narrowed.
"No path is easy, it's not easy to become one even with ten thousand, it's not easy to become one even with one hundred thousand, it's a very difficult path. Oh... Some people think that it's so difficult that there is no such thing as magic. I don't blame people, oh, but | is real, it's in the Buddha's teachings, if you don't believe in magic | it's like saying you don't believe in God, you'll go to hell," he said.
“No matter how you try to become a wizard, in the end, there will always be obstacles, and then someone will come to help you... For example, whether you are a person who is doing the exit route by throwing a ball of mercury or a person who is doing the in-road route, in the end, there will always be obstacles and a teacher who will help you. Therefore, in order to overcome obstacles and complete the task, you need to strengthen your samadhi,” the teacher continued. The children did not yet know about landslides...
"Tell me about the landslide, Baba," he said, pleading.
"Well... as I said earlier, if you try to become a wizard, you'll be able to shake the earth," said the wise man.
“What should I do after becoming a wizard?” I asked. The teacher explained as follows.
"If you are a monk, you have to go abroad to work. From where you live, you go to Maha Myaing Forest. Maha Myaing is not the Maha Myaing Forest on the right, it is around the Himalayas. There are many large birds called Bok in that forest. When we were young, when we played Bok, we used to play the song "In Maha Myaing Forest, I will hold the Bok Ma's hand." In that Maha Myaing Forest, there is a Maha Myaing camp where monks live. You have to go there. There are large forests and large forests of Su that ordinary people cannot reach. You have to cross the sky to reach Maha Myaing. When you reach Maha Myaing, you will see monks meditating. The monks who came from the country will also be given a place to meditate and food from the Maha Myaing camp and asked them to meditate. Oh... I have to say, when you reach Maha Myaing, even the Mercury Shin who can fly in the sky will no longer have the power. Oh, the mantras also have no power anymore. The place where the powerful energy is stored is called the storage room. There is a monk who takes care of the wisdom there. He is also a wisdom. Among the wisdom, there is the Chaparasi wisdom. The Chaparasi wisdom is the teacher of the new arrivals. Don't sit there, sit here, and do this meaning. At that time, the new wizard also has to follow, and if he doesn't, he won't be able to do it. When the energy is stored, he has no power left, and even the sky can't do it. So, he has to do what the monk asks him to do. In order to achieve the meanings, he is allowed to meet with the great inner wisdoms such as Ashin Wimala, Maha Myaing Wisdom Sayadaw, and Yekkan Sin Taung Wisdom Sayadaw. Then, the new arrival was "sent to the palace by the great ancient masters."
At those words, the wise man paused and drank some hot water.
"What does it mean to enter the kingdom, father?" asked a child.
"It's called sending a new wizard back to the country he came from. The old man accompanies the new wizard to the border of the country he's going to. Then the new wizard re-enters his country as a 'land-walking wizard.' Once he reaches the level of a land-walking wizard, he's already quite skilled."
The teacher explained.
“What did that wizard do when he entered the country?” asked one of the children.
"He is a pious person who has a duty to help those in need and to help those who are practicing the path of wisdom. Therefore, in the past, elders, especially elders who followed the path of wisdom, would place a pot of rice filled with lotus flowers, hyacinth flowers, and seasonal flowers in order to welcome the sages who were entering the land. They would write on the pot, ' Worship Pot for Entering the Land,' and place the pot in front of their house, as a sign of welcoming the sages who were entering the land."
Saying this, the teacher gave birth to tobacco,
"Are there still any earthbound wizards?" one of the children asked.
"Yes, there are, but people don't know that they are soothsayers. Some soothsayers come in like crazy people, like beggars. Once in a small town called Hadwar in India, and once at the Paunglaungshin Kassapa Buddha in Myungmu, my father met a soothsayer twice. But I didn't know what to ask for, so I didn't ask. He showed me a fortune-telling card, and my father ate with it. In fact, when I met a soothsayer, he would ask for it, and I would ask for it.
