Thank you, my parents.

The Myinmo Mountain is eighty-four thousand yojanas high. The meaning of the kindness of the mother and father is higher than the first peak of the Myinmo Mountain. There is a proverb, "Myinmo Mountain, the beginning of the mountain, the greatest kindness, the mother and father." In Buddhism, the mother and father are considered to be one of the five infinite beings that are respected and valued along with the Buddha. Therefore, every child should be especially aware of the kindness of their parents and repay them.

As the saying goes, “The appearance of the child, the name of the child is like the clear water of the sea, and when it falls, the parents’ womb is at peace.” The love that parents have for their children flows like the clear water of the sea. Before the parents see their children’s appearance, they prepare for the baby to be born from the moment the baby’s first breath begins. The mother carries the fetus for nine months and gives birth to the baby after ten months. During that pregnancy, they avoid hot, spicy, and bitter foods and think about the baby. At the time of birth, they also face life-threatening dangers to bring the baby into the world.

When the child was only “two hands and two feet long,” it was his mother who fed him with her milk and gradually raised him to maturity. Therefore, the Buddha tried to repay his mother’s kindness. When his mother Maya was in the Tavatimsa heaven, the Buddha ascended to heaven and preached the First Abhidhamma as a token of gratitude to his mother. His father, King Suddhodana, also preached the Dhamma in return. Even with this gratitude, it is said that the Buddha could only repay his mother’s milk for one cup. Thus, the Buddha himself advised that one should repay one’s parents’ kindness as much as possible.

When they were young, their parents taught them to speak well. They taught them to behave well. They also provided them with food, clothing, and shelter. They raised them like insects to protect them from ticks, mosquitoes, and flies.

Childhood discipline

"I didn't teach you, father."

As such, we were trained to live under the shadow of our father - to be disciplined. Our parents

If you are getting married, wear a five-inch dress.

"Only father and mother"

As such, they are those who fulfill the five duties of filial piety.

"Only bad people are allowed to ask for help. There is no way to give help to bad children." In accordance with the saying, no matter how bad or evil they are, they are always loved. If we were to show the great kindness of a mother, we can see it clearly in the courtroom of the Bodhisattva Mahahosada. Mahahosada set up a line for everyone to see, and placed the little boy in the middle, and the mother and the boy competed against each other. The little boy in the middle cried out in pain, and the mother was so hurt that she let go of her little boy and gave up. Here, Mahahosada revealed the true nature of a mother. This is the great love a mother has for her children.

There is a proverb in the Old Testament that says, “God is not in every home, so He created a mother in every home.” It is also said, “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” World-famous scientist Thomas Edison was expelled from school for being too poor at reading. However, his mother encouraged and educated him, and she raised him to excel. Thus, Edison became a person who could create something beneficial for the entire world. This is thanks to his mother.

Similarly, in Burmese history, Rajakumara is known as a person who received the good influence of his good mother. Rajakumara, who did not aspire to the throne of Bagan but only enjoyed literature, went down in history as a wise son due to the wise guidance of his mother Sambula. Ajata, who had abandoned his parents without any gratitude, joined forces with Devadatta to imprison and kill his father, King Bimbisara. For this, Ajata suffered in the Lohakumbi hell.

Therefore, children should not sin against their parents. They should be grateful. Rajakumara had made a donation to his father, King Kansit. Suvannasama was saved from death by serving his parents respectfully. Prince Mahajanaka, who had taken care of his mother, was also saved from death by the rescue of Mani Mekhala.

We were born with the coaxing of our mother, who said, “Give me some rice, rice flour, and a golden plate. Wow... wow.. wow..” We were born with the coaxing of our mother, who said, “Give me some rice, rice flour, and a golden plate.” We were born with the hard work and money our father earned to provide us with food and education. When we think about these blessings, we see that they are countless.

The sky is like a mother. The sky, like a mother's love, covers the world, and we are sheltered in the arms of the mother's love. The moon is like a father. Just as the moon illuminates the world, the father is a great torch that illuminates our children. With that light, we children must continue our journey of life.

Therefore, it is the duty of every child to repay their parents' kindness. "Do not neglect to feed them,

Implement, plan,

Make it worthy of inheritance,

Donate and share, and wait for the wind to pass by.

Five ways to wear

"Good manners, good sons."

As such, it is the duty of children to nurture and care for their parents, to inherit their inheritance, and to protect their lineage. We must all strive to become people who know their responsibilities.
