The editor said:
In other countries, the job of editor is a very difficult one to achieve. In fact, in those countries, before becoming an editor, one has to endure many years of training as a reporter, as a junior editor, and as a junior writer. Even though they have to work hard, the expectations for success as an editor are not very high.
In our country, however, it is much easier to become an editor. Is it because Burmese people are born with editorial blood? Or is it because it is easy for Burmese people to become literate? Or is it because journalism in Myanmar is a relatively new profession, so anyone can become an editor? Or is it because it is a country with a large number of monks? There are many reasons to think about it.
Some people think that if they pass the first grade, they are an editor. Some people think that if they can write poetry, they are an editor. Some people think that if they can write essays and articles, they are an editor. In fact, if they pass the first grade, BA, and can write essays, articles, and poems, they are not editors but just writers. If they understand the rules of dictation and can prepare poems, short stories, night stories, and full-length stories, they are not editors but just proofreaders. However, it is necessary to distinguish between editors and writers and proofreaders.
An editor doesn't need to have a BA, nor does it have to be a first-class writer. He uses his intelligence to sift through the vast piles of garbage written by others, considering the pros and cons, the good, the bad, the appropriate, and the not-so-good, and then pulls this article into this one, puts that article in that file, sends that article back to that person, removes the criminal elements, considers which articles are most beneficial to which group of people, and what kind of articles will be liked by the readers of the newspaper, and then puts the small ones in the tail, writes them so that they are not left out, and edits them appropriately, cutting them out, filling them in, changing them, and dividing them into sections to make them better. After the rooms are arranged, the newspaper, the big hall of various kinds of literature, is arranged in a way that makes it look like a shop with a sweet smell, a sweet smell, and a smell, and if you look at it with a lot of steam, it is appropriate to call those who have the intelligence of a master of the newspaper editor and manage it to the point of being worth it.
Editor comes from the Latin word 'Edere' which means "to bring out". In fact, an editor is someone who supervises the production of newspapers , magazines , and books. The masters who supervise in the three great books are true editors. An editor-in-chief does not need to be a master of any science. He does not need to be able to write a piece of writing that will please people. He only needs to be able to look at the situation of this world with the eyes of the mind, and to be able to criticize the mistakes of the headline writer, the mistakes of the novelist, the wounds of the news writer, the mistakes of the politician, the shortcomings of the columnist, the attitude of the dishonest person, the good and bad, the right and wrong, the wrong and the wrong. In short, an editor does not become an editor just by being able to write. An editor does not become an editor just by being able to publish. The person who drives a newspaper to become a reality is called an editor.
That is why the newspapers, journals, and magazines that appear so often disappear before the press is born. This is because the teachers who think that the job of an editor is not as difficult as the job of a potter, and who simply hold a pen and can publish, act as editors, and work as if they are ordinary, thinking that what they do will be destroyed until they are destroyed, are very wrong.
In our country, journalism is still at the bottom of the ladder. There are still amazing ways to expand and improve.
