Hello, virgin.
In September 1993, a women's magazine called "Apo Sin" was about to be published, and a member of the editorial team approached us and asked us to contribute articles for Apo Sin that would help young women gain knowledge and benefit their future.
We were happy when women's magazines were rare. We always had the desire to publish a truly women's magazine. Especially for young women, "virgins", we thought about how to preserve the morals and culture of Myanmar, and how to ensure that Burmese women's dignity and style are preserved, so we asked, "Can we write freely in a virgin magazine? Are there any restrictions?"
The requester said, "Please write about the benefits for the young virgins, and there's no need to say whether you have freedom or not. You can write freely and openly."
Therefore, after we happily accepted a literary assignment entrusted to us by a magazine that trusted the writer with freedom, we began to think about topics that would appropriately address the ethnic, religious, educational, and related general knowledge of Burmese girls and women from the very beginning of their lives.
Literature can only progress if there is freedom. In the Apo Sin magazine, which has the philosophy of free thinking and free writing, we started writing freely, honestly, and with faith. It has been more than three years since we started writing, and we have not edited a single word of our writings, but have only included them as they are.
The benefit of a relationship between authors and publishers based on trust is that the literature continues to improve, and readers continue to believe in, enjoy, and crave it, and learn about the wisdom that literature provides.
When we think about the young lives of young virgins, we think about their womanhood, which they will gradually grow up to live. We continue to think that when a virtuous virgin grows up and becomes a woman, she will be more valuable than in her youth and will be able to enjoy a happy life in the world.
Therefore, it is no longer exclusive to virgins, but rather, it is about studying, reflecting, and criticizing the various lives of women from virginity to adulthood, and presenting the various aspects of women's lives in an appropriate manner, as she has experienced, has experienced, and is still experiencing. Since she has become self-confident in presenting the lives of women with objectivity, the author is satisfied with being able to write openly and freely.
It was a shame that a special name was added to the teaching section for young virgins. Because we adults should only correct a fool if we see him, so virgins are not fools. They are just children who are not wise and do not lie, so we should guide them to be kind and considerate in everything. If the mother does not teach, the daughter will become foolish. Virgins who are pure and do not lie, do not become foolish by nature. It is only because of the environment that they go astray due to wrong thoughts and wrong beliefs. Now, all the virgins that we have studied are not fools. We do not even need to correct them. However, adults need to guide and teach them so that they can know right from wrong and think.
Considering these facts, literature is more powerful than the oral teachings of adults and parents. Although a mother may be able to listen to a word or two, a virgin who is forced to read can never get enough of it, cannot feel enough of it, and cannot remember enough of it. Only the reader himself can know how much the beauty of literature can attract him. However, he is fascinated by the literature he is reading, and he feels that literature in his heart so much that he cannot stop.
The Virgo reader is a thoughtful, intelligent person who will not be foolish. The art of giving knowledge in the text he reads is always warning him not to be foolish. Because the texts we adults write for young people in the Virgo magazine are “little letters” that are written to open their minds without entertainment. The readers who enjoy those “little letters” are the Virgos. It is known that the Virgos who read, memorize, and enjoy those letters are the ones who find wisdom in the letters. The Virgos who are still searching for wisdom, and who want to continue to search for it, want to remember and stay, so we will tell you what they said to us through the Virgo magazine below.
