Question number 6 is a question that previously required only one type of essay. Three essays were given. Diagrammatic information was provided. Students were required to choose only one essay and answer.
The score is 20 points. Exactly half of the 40 passing points. One-fifth of the total questions. Therefore, question number 6 is an important and crucial question for the students who answer it.
Now it will change. In the Myanmar question number 6, you will see that there are two questions (a) and (b). (a) will be given 10 marks. The essay question will continue to be asked as per the previous question format. (b) will be asked to discuss a proposition. The question will be asked and given 10 marks. Question (b) is a question that tests the students' own thinking and personal qualities. It is a question that will get good marks if the writing is good and good if the thinking is good. However, the answer must be written in prose style and not in conversational style. The propositions that will be asked for question number 6(b) will also be given only general propositions that are familiar to all students.
For example -
“Summer is more beautiful than winter.” “Excessive use of modern smartphones is harmful to health.” “Watching television is more beneficial than reading the news.” And so on.
The given statement cannot be answered as true or false. Instead, you can write your answer in a way that allows you to support it if you want, and to object if you want, according to your own opinion, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes, without making a judgment.
I would like to say that students do not need to have a little general knowledge to discuss a proposal. If they can create and write their proposal in words, sentences, paragraphs, and clauses that are beautiful, touching, to the point, and that will impress the examiner, they will get good marks.
For example, here are two types of meat for comparison.
