Who will take on this responsibility?
I remember a conversation I had with U Kaung Nyunt, the late principal of Yangon Region No. 2 Regional College and later the principal of Dagon University. He said that a teacher cannot do his own work. He has to do other jobs. I remember him saying that Myanmar has made considerable progress in terms of being allowed to do his own work.
Now, when we talk and write about business, we come across truths, complete falsehoods, and half-truths. Especially when we come across truths that are false and half-truths, I find it impossible not to write or speak. The problem is that editors, reporters, and readers cannot distinguish between what is said by experts and what is said by non-experts. Sometimes, they try as hard as they can, but they are too tired to do so. As some teachers say, the person who should ask is the one who asked the wrong question, and the question is right but the person who should ask the wrong question is often wrong.
Sometimes I think in reverse. For example, if you ask a doctor to bandage a wound, and ask a nurse to treat it, then the doctor will not be able to treat it, and the nurse will not be able to bandage it. What is the level of the person you manage or the person you are working with? You may encounter situations where you do not know whether to treat them or bandage them.
When I was in university, there was a question I often asked. What is the main task of university education? People gave me different answers. When I said “security,” they laughed. It was true. At that time, the situation was more important than higher education, security and politics. It took many years to turn back to education. We are now seeing the results of the fact that the main task of the education sector was not education.
When I went from the education department to a government department, I saw that the department responsible for international communications and information was filled with people who couldn't speak English and didn't understand what others were saying, and they were only focused on the scandals they were talking about, the car issues, and the oil issues.
When I retired early from the government and came to the outside world, I was forced to do my own work, not do my own work, not do what I could do, but only do the level of collecting firewood, carrying water, and carrying a broom. Even so, I can't live on my own, so I have to do what I can to speak, write, and do what I can. In fact, it's not just government departments that don't do their own work, it's also seen in some international organizations, civil society organizations, and private businesses.
So, if you want to know how your business or organization is progressing, and how much growth it has, it's a good idea to sit back and watch to see if the right people are in the right places, if they're doing their jobs, and if those who can do small things are doing small things and those who can do big things are doing big things.
Unemployed - jobless - jobless
The BBC asked me about the increasing unemployment in the world, and how concerned I am in Myanmar. They were discussing it with people from all over the world and in Myanmar, and they asked me about it with a lawyer. The lawyer seemed to be more interested in unemployment and labor issues. Later, a BBC reporter mixed up labor issues and unemployment issues. He admitted that the unemployment issue had been diluted by not talking about labor issues.
I have talked a lot about unemployment, and structural unemployment. It is not enough to just talk about unemployment. Many of my friends will pay good salaries. They cannot even send employees. They have a lot of degrees and certificates, but they do not actually know how to work.
What I see again and again is that there is not only a lack of skills, but also a situation where there is a reasonable demand, and only a few people who want to get a loan from the right people. The prices they ask for are outrageous. They also ask for opportunities. They ask for travel expenses, vacation days, salary increases, etc., but when it comes to what responsibilities they will take on and how much they can do, their voices are silenced. At the very least, they do not have the ability to speak and read English. It is far from being able to write in English.
When you have a good salary, a good place, and when you get it, you need to stay. A person who has the mentality that if you stay and settle down anywhere, you will be satisfied, and you will not only suffer, but also cause trouble for others, especially those who want to work. The mentality that you can eat without working often leads to those who try to eat by working and being called weak and demoralized.
So I would like to say that there are not only unemployed people, but also people who don't have work in their hands, people who don't have work in their minds, people who don't have work in their minds. They are the ones who don't have a job in their minds.
When you are born, no one knows. It's like that. You have to learn it gradually. You often find people who are lazy and those who are not smart. They work without using any intelligence and if possible, they don't work. The kind of people you should say thank you for. Especially those who make a big deal out of what they know and don't understand the situation or the time zone, so they don't work, but they start to say that they are just busy.
Therefore, to avoid unemployment, we need to have technology, skills, and knowledge that are in line with the times, a mindset that is in line with the market, and wisdom that is in line with the workplace. When it comes to human resources, we should not look at others, at the side, or at the top or bottom, but rather focus on the things that we want to do, the things that we don't want to do, and the things that we need to do to have the wisdom that is needed to do the job.
New Year and Old Year
This seems to be a time of great interest to those who are interested in astrology, as well as those who are not, and those who are interested in the future. The word that will certainly appear in all the future-related articles is change. A friend of mine, an economics professor in Australia , accepts change, but does not accept it as reform.
Just the other day, I went to give a lecture in Ayeyarwady Region, Kanaung with Saya Hein Latt and actor Beluwa. I, who am not a geography expert, was worried about going to Ayeyarwady Region. I was worried about crossing the river to the other side of Pyay. It took 8 hours to get to Myan Aung, which I wanted to say quickly, and 12 hours to get back. All the things I had planned on doing on the way back were lost. Even though I said quickly, I couldn’t do it quickly, so I had to do things and fail.
“Kanaung” is proud of its history and traditions. When I saw the great Pyi Lone Chan Pagoda on the banks of the Kanaung River, my heart sank into the Ayeyarwady River along with the pagoda’s flagpole. Look, when we were talking about the Ayeyarwady confluence, there were shoals in the middle of the river, and the deepest part of the water was only five feet. Isn’t the conservation of the Ayeyarwady River something that must be done at the beginning, middle, and end of the river, at the beginning of the confluence, and at the end of the confluence?
The uncontrollable flow of the river eroded the banks of the Kanawha River, and the pagoda itself, not to mention the entire country, was not safe. It was not only damaged by natural disasters but also by human destruction. A standing statue of the Buddha was cut off and carried away, leaving only its feet.
Kanaung has gone through various eras. From the time of wearing the golden crown to the time when it was sold. It also reminds us of the dark shadow that those who want to improve, improve, and advance are often removed for their own selfish reasons. In the face of change, we have experienced many ups and downs. We have not been able to see the positive side of change. We have not been able to create change. I do not think that the people of Kanaung are bad.
In fact, the history of Myanmar is also the history of Kanaung. If we were to misunderstand the place and place of change, we would be left behind. It is recorded in history, but it will not be seen in the present.
We are challenging our knowledge, wisdom, intelligence, communication networks, and technological networks to create new opportunities and new pages, not to be torn apart by changes. Although it is a new year, we are still trying to pay off the debts that we could not pay off in the old year.
The house we're in now is close to the highway, so when we first arrived, the house shook when cars, especially large ones, passed by.
Also, during the rainy season, there are big valleys, which makes it difficult to travel. Then, they repave half of the road. So, half of the road is good and half of the road is bad.
After a while, the entire road was closed and repaired. A concrete road about a foot thick was laid. It took a long time to repair. Not only the road, but also the platforms and the signs were all repaired, and everyone was amazed. My friends and students thought it was the road where the teacher lived. They even joked that they wanted to move. It wasn't because I was capable.
