"I guarantee that if you do more than you should, you will get more than you should."

[1]

I once knew a young man who worked in a department store in a small town. In these times of economic depression, many stores keep only a small amount of stock on hand to keep costs down. It is common for the supply to be out of balance with demand. But they still manage to survive by lending each other their surplus.

Charlie Scott was the blue-collared boy from the store I knew. Many times Charlie Scott would come running and knock on the door of the store next to my house, and I would hear him say, “Mr. Andrew, please lend us that thing for a moment. The store is out of stock.” The owner of the store, Andrew, would say, “Hey, Scott, take what you want.” Charlie Scott would run and run again as soon as he got the answer.

One day I asked Andrew, “Why is that guy named Charlie so active?” The old man smiled and replied, “He wants a raise. I’m sure he’ll get a raise .” I asked if he was sure, and he said, “Even if his boss doesn’t give him a raise, I will.”

"The right attitudes

"It's easier to keep than to get back."

Now, let's look at the five attitudes in life. The first is self-esteem. How you see yourself. How you feel. What you value will influence your perspective on life, your outlook.

The second attitude is love. How you feel about others. How you see them. Love, or true love, always sees the good in a person.

The third attitude is faith. How you feel about God or your religion. That attitude will influence your behavior toward your family and followers.

The fourth state of mind is hope. Your view of your future. As the psychologist Alfred Adler said, “Hope is the basis of change. It gives people direction. Hope is the belief that something good will happen.”

The fifth attitude is forgiveness. It concerns the past. The ability to forgive others for their mistakes creates positive outcomes for your future. The actions of someone who has wronged you in the past can have the opposite effect on your present and future. If only you could forgive. Forgiveness is the wisest choice.

Keep these five mindsets in mind and they will serve you well on your way to the top.

“The intelligent are admired, the rich are envied, the powerful are feared, but... only those with good morals are trusted.”

A few years ago, I was giving a lecture at a business school. Out of a hundred or so students, only a third of them were paying attention to what I was saying. The other two-thirds were either distracted or falling asleep.

There was a TV crew at the lecture, so I asked the cameramen to come behind me and turn the camera to the audience instead of me. And then, the strange thing was, the audience members all straightened up and focused on the lecture. 100% of the time. Because the spotlight was on them.

That's right. Remember that the camera of life is always watching our morals, our conscience, and our honesty. We must not be caught unawares. If we live our lives as if the camera is right in front of us, we will always live honestly. Then we will not have to apologize or make excuses tomorrow for our dishonest behavior today.

Some of the mistakes, errors, and failures that occur in life are not big, world-ending mistakes for us. They only affect our actions for a moment. Sometimes we spend more time dwelling on these small mistakes than necessary. How do we deal with these small losses?

Step one - accept that you have failed.

Step Two - Think positively and realize that the loss won't last long. Resolve to overcome the mistake. Be strong and move on.

What these two points mean is that you acknowledge your failures in the first step and take responsibility for them in the second step. If that responsibility is effective, your small mistakes will become the impetus for your big successes.

"Where you start is not as important as where you end up."

If you've ever felt sorry for yourself and said to me, "Sir, you don't understand my past," I have a good idea. Instead of explaining why you didn't succeed, tell me how other people succeeded.

A study that studied 300 world leaders, including Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Clara Barton, Helen Clark, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King Jr., found that 25% of these leaders had physical disabilities, and another 50% had childhoods that were abusive or lived in a poor environment.

These leaders fought hard instead of giving up on life. So always remember that it is not the circumstances that come your way that will change you in life. It is how you deal with those circumstances and move forward.

"The saying 'If something happens, it depends on you' is absolutely true."

The answer is, start now.”

Many people don't use or develop their talents because they deny them. People know that it's better to deny a talent. Then, as they deny it, they don't pay attention to it until it eventually disappears.

The second thing people don't use their talents for is procrastination. Some decide to use their talents for things that never exist in the future. Tomorrow is uncertain for you.

The third factor, fear, is also a factor that prevents us from using our talents and skills. Some people don't understand that failure is just an event. Most of us don't want to risk anything special for losses that don't affect us.

The fourth reason why people fail to use their talents is irresponsibility. They are happy to blame others for their failures.

The saddest phrase is the fear of what will happen. Vicki Higgins gave the best answer. "If you did it, you'd better do it well." Your choice.
