Chapter (2)

About 20 years later, in the "Shwebo Taunglet....Shyataw Ywa" (a small village near Shwebo Mountain), in a fried rice shop near a puppet show, four young men gathered together, as is customary among Burmese, and chatted happily.

One of the four was Khin Maung Nyunt, the adopted son of Shwebo City Minister U Kyaw Din. Although he was an adopted son, Khin Maung Nyunt was as gentle as a nobleman from the forehead to the knees, unlike a poor man, and his temperament was not arrogant, like that of a city governor's son. He was loved and cherished by the public and his close friends. Although he was only about 20 years old, he was eloquent in his speech and had a good sense of humor in everything.

The second young man was Khin Maung Nyunt's younger brother, "Khin Maung Kunt," and was the son of the mayor. He was about (2) years younger and a handsome man. His character was different from Khin Maung Nyunt. As the son of the mayor, he always wore beautiful clothes and often went around with many disciples. His speech was somewhat arrogant, and his friends tolerated him as the son of the city minister, but they were not happy in their hearts and did not love him much. However, Khin Maung Kunt was arrogant towards other people, but he loved Khin Maung Nyunt as much as his own brother, and he never spoke to Khin Maung Nyunt in a tone of voice like "I am the only one who is born." The two brothers never quarreled and were very kind to each other.

The third person was “Maung Tain Kyaw,” the son of U Kyar Nyunt, a Buddhist monk who owned a lot of land in Shwebo and borrowed money from his family.

He was about 24 years old and the only son of wealthy parents. He was a man who was led astray, drinking and partying with many people.

The fourth man was "Maung Tin Maung", the son of the military leader U Kyaw Ho. He was not a handsome man. He was only about 23 years old, but he was very clever in social matters and was able to sell his son to another person.

He is a good speaker, and he can talk in a way that is pleasing to the ear. Maung Tin Maung may have a sweet mouth, but inside he is a scheming and arrogant person.

The four nobles, although they were not close to each other, became friends with each other and came to see the puppet show with their followers in a cart. After giving their followers food and money, the four of them walked to the market and arrived at the fried rice shop.

While they were eating snacks such as fried egg, fried chicken thigh, fried fish , and fried rice, Maung Tain Kyaw said -

Chapter (1)

In the year (118) of the Burmese calendar, Bagyidaw Pagoda succeeded his father and formed an alliance with the Emperor of Gandhara, China, and was building a golden and silver road for the entire country. During his reign, at about (4) o'clock in the afternoon, in the summer, when the people of the city were sitting on the floor, verandas, etc., and chatting, a woman of about (20) years old, wearing shabby clothes and so exhausted that she could barely lift her feet, entered the Shwebo city from the mountain gate and looked at the houses on either side of the road.

As she was walking, she heard a baby crying from the little bundle she was carrying. She opened the bundle and saw that the moonlight was shining on the baby's face, and she saw the face of a very beautiful baby. The mother looked up at the moon and thought, "My baby is more beautiful than the moon." She stopped and looked for shelter instead of going on the road she was going to. Then, remembering that she was hungry and tired, she took courage and continued on her usual path.

The woman's feet were also cracked because she had never traveled far, and drops of blood fell to the ground. The girl's complexion was different from that of the poor. She had traveled far and had not seen food or water for a long time, so her skin was pale and thin, but her eyebrows, eyes, and even her manner of walking were very delicate and graceful.

After a short journey, they came across a large house, larger than the other houses, with a noisy atmosphere and the playing of five musical instruments, including the harp, lute, and lute. The mother, holding her young son close to her chest, watched from the courtyard.

When she saw the people cooking in pots and pans in the courtyard, the woman, who had not eaten for a long time, was hungry and had a strong desire to eat. She complained, "I have not eaten for a long time. Here, there is an endless supply of food and drink." The cooks suddenly ran out of the house in panic.

Then the woman kissed her child in the kitchen, and with an indestructible gesture, she slowly placed him near the stove, took the food, kissed him again, and left without looking back.
