The strange girl with the manuscript

This book is a work by the great scholar "PoChaung Ling" who appeared in China around the middle of the 17th century, during the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty.

The Chinese classic "Lui Chai Chi Yee" written by Po Chao Lin contains 400 long poems.

There are 16 volumes.

What all of his novels have in common is that they are “supernatural” novels. This is a unique feature. Some novels are about ghosts, supernatural beings, and supernatural phenomena, while others are not. But all of them are strange and wonderful.

But "

Very few people know about the life of Poe Chao Lin. No one knows for sure when he wrote his novels. Some have never even read or heard of his novels.

This novel, "The Book Worm and the Strange Girl," is a translation of "Chinese Tales of the Supernatural" (also known as "The Book Worm"), a collection of stories from the Chinese classic "Lui Chai Chi Yee" by Po Chao Ling.

Long Yuchu's father was a great lover of books. When his father died, his son Long Yuchu inherited his father's house and the books that his father loved.

The house was large and spacious, with books everywhere, and only Long Yuchu was in the house. He didn't think that there were more important things in life than reading books. He didn't do any work and just lived off the money his father had left him. Soon, all the money was gone. He didn't know what to do.

Eventually, Long Yuchu sold everything he could find except books to buy food.

When his father was still alive, he wrote two memorable words for his son. He also encouraged him to study them carefully to understand their meaning. In the letter,

"In books, there is a golden house. In books, there is a beautiful young girl whose face never ages."

It is.

His father had written the letter on silk. Long Yuchu held the letter in high regard. He hung it above his desk so that it would always be visible, taking care not to damage it.

Long Yuchu believed in his father's words written on the scroll. He had no doubts. He believed that one day, just as his father had said, he would find a golden house and a beautiful young woman.

One day, Lao Yor saw a golden house in a picture book. He was very excited when he saw the golden house.

"Father is right. I have actually found the Golden House in the books."

He was talking to himself. Right now, he was in dire need of money. So he tried to sell the toy house. But the golden house was not made of real gold, so it was worthless. So he was very disappointed and took the house and threw it in the corner of the room. He forgot about the golden house.

One day before the Mid-Autumn Festival, a friend of his father came to borrow books. The friend saw a golden house in the corner of the room and touched it with interest.

“This golden house is a very valuable piece of art. I collect toy houses. I have been looking for this piece my whole life. Now I can see it with my own eyes, I am very happy,” said my father’s friend with joy.

Then the old man said,

"If you really want this house, take it," he replied.

His father's friend's eyes widened.

"Did my nephew really say that?" he asked Long Yuchu, not even believing his own ears.

"To be honest, this house is of no use to me."

Long Yu Chu said.

His father's friend, the old man, was so happy that he forgot about the matter as he came. The old man gently picked up the playhouse as if he were carrying a baby. Then the old man was so happy that he forgot to say goodbye and left.

The next day, the old man returned the golden house to Long Yuchu, and in return, he sent him three hundred silver coins and two horses as gifts.

"I knew that I would find wealth in books. Two horses and three hundred silver coins are worth a lot. Now I am rich," said Long Yuchu happily.

From then on, Long Yuchu believed his father's two words more firmly and began to spend more time reading books.

Thus, the young man had come of age and was ready to get married. However, he had no one to marry yet. People were urging him to get married.

Every time he said that, Long Yuchu looked at him with confidence.

"There's something my father said. It's that in the books there's a beautiful girl whose face never ages. One day, I'll find a beautiful wife for myself."

He usually replies.

Thus a year passed. But he was still unmarried. People made fun of him.

"I haven't found the girl I'm looking for in the books yet. How long will I keep looking?"

He didn't mind people teasing him. He firmly believed that one day the beautiful girl from the book would come to him.

One night, while he was reading a history book, he suddenly saw a picture of a beautiful girl between the pages. The picture was vivid and seemed real. He held the page with the picture of the beautiful girl with his hand so that it would not disappear. He stared at the picture for a long time. His eyes became tired and he stopped. Then he opened the book with the picture of the beautiful girl and placed it on the table.

Then a very strange thing happened. He felt in his mind that the girl in the picture was smiling at him. He looked at the picture again. Then, to his surprise, he saw the girl walking out of the picture.

The girl then closed her eyes and said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

"Oh, I must be dreaming," he whispered.

Then he opened his eyes and saw the woman in the picture standing on the table in front of him. The girl was about an inch tall. The girl's body gradually grew. She got off the table and came down. Only then did she become the size of a real girl. The girl was the beautiful, graceful woman he wanted her to be.

Then, Lao Yock Chu

"You angel, may I know who you are?" he asked respectfully. He was still a little afraid.

Then the fairy said,

"I am the fairy who never ages. I am the one you have been searching for and waiting for in books. Now your wishes have come true. I have come to be your betrothed wife."

He said.

Thus, the two of them got married and lived together in the house. But they did not speak to each other.
