Last month, there were many stories in the magazines about the great actress Elizabeth Taylor. She has now been married for the seventh time at the age of 60. This was quite surprising in Burmese culture. In the world of Hollywood, marriage and divorce are not surprising.

When I lived abroad for a while, my companion was the TV in both England and Hong Kong. In England, the weather was too cold to go out, and in Hong Kong, I didn't have a companion. In my free time, I could drive my daughter around and visit wherever she wanted.

I go for a walk every morning and have a chance to observe their lives up close. It would be true if I watched parts of their countries' cultures on TV.

There are various series, one-off stories. Dynasty, which is shown in Yangon, and Noble House ! Colby , which is very popular in Hong Kong. I am sure Samcos? 'The Poor Little Rich Girl' is a story about a woman named Bette Hutton. It is based on a true story. Farrah Fawcett plays the daughter of a millionaire, Betty Hutton. She had seven husbands at the age of 57 and died at the age of 60.

The story is a Western in nature. In Burmese, it is said that Betty Hutton was a contemporary of Elizabeth Taylor in taking her husband away.

When I watch various stories, I see people doing what they want, both legally and illegally. If not for love, then for business, or for power, people kill each other. The methods of killing are varied. There are also simple love stories. When there are stories based on dance, singing, and entertainment, it is fun. There are also stories about the blind and deaf. There are also stories about people who cannot stand the pressure of wealth and fame and become addicted to drugs. I must say that it is quite complete.

Some people cannot stand loneliness in life. They are so poor that they become isolated from their surroundings, or they are so rich and famous that they avoid society and remain alone. They also try to avoid loneliness by taking medication or committing suicide.

Even the great actress Elle Zebedee Taylor, mentioned at the beginning of the article, could not bear the pain of loneliness and could not be alone and married again and again. Did her marriage fulfill the longing of her heart and body? Even if it was not fulfilled, she had to take drugs again. After being hospitalized for drug addiction and quitting, she finally found her seventh husband. If you look at the famous singer Elvis Presley and movie actress Marilyn Monroe, Presley used drugs to solve his life problems, and Monroe tried to escape by committing suicide. How severe is the impact of life's journey, the lows and highs, the desire to be or not, the impact of life, the path of leisure? It was enough to make them want to end their lives.

In the movie, millionaires and billionaires are sitting on a treasure chest and feeling miserable. They become miserable because they want what they want. The more they want it, the more they want it. They are blinded by the desire, unable to escape, unable to breathe, unable to escape. When the desire becomes strong, they get it. In getting it, they do not consider the Dhamma and the Dhamma. Sometimes, when they encounter an unpleasant object, they become angry and even kill people to fulfill their desire.

Looking at them, it is impossible to imagine that if life is full of material wealth, there will be no suffering.

These events refute the claims of scholars who say that society would become a world of nirvana if there were no class of people who exploit and provide material goods for humanity.

No material thing can fulfill the desires of a human being. In other words, the desires of this human being are not satisfied with the material things that are fulfilled.

In this way, man becomes a victim of desire.

Once again, I thought back to all the Western novels I had read.

We were obsessed with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet when we were young. They committed suicide because they couldn't bear the pain of being separated from their loved ones. In our young hearts, we imagined them as heroes of love and cherished them forever.

In The Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare portrays Shylock's endless desire.

In Tolstoy's novels, we also see the pain of desire, the joy of contentment, the peace of love, and the misconception that impermanent things are permanent.

In Daphne DuMarie's novel "The Waterfront," we find the story of a man who, unable to bear the pain of being with someone he does not love, commits suicide.

The American writer Jack London's novel Love of Life beautifully depicts the human attachment to life in such a natural and detailed way. It is terrifying to imagine a person struggling to survive, hungry, tired, and suffering, even though he knows that death will free him from his suffering.

I was so hungry that I slit the throat of an old wolf and drank its blood, and I was shocked. According to Buddhism, it is a desire for life. All beings are attached to life.

Edgar Allan Poe's novel The Mask of the Red Death depicts the permanence of death. It depicts how those who flee from death, seeking refuge, fall into the hands of death, and death reigns forever.

I read and thought about as many Burmese novels as I could get my hands on, starting from the 550th novel. The stories they wrote and the films they made revealed human life from various perspectives, and there was always a speck of (poverty) in life. It was big and small. The poor were poor, and the rich were poor.
